Hi everyone!
Click
HERE and you will find the
latest version of the Job Search Websites Handout. Because I
had not updated this in so long, I took the time to do a
comprehensive update this time. Whew! It was a lot of work,
but it's worth it. I weeded out dozens of dead links and I
have added dozens of new ones. The end result is that the
handout has now reached 30 pages!
I never imagined that the JSW handout would become so large;
the original format of a document that could be printed out
and distributed to people who needed it seemed the most
feasible for a 5-10 page handout. However, I recognize that
a thirty-page document is a huge burden for organizations to
photocopy and distribute. Most of my time this spring will
be occupied with teaching the
Global Career Development Facilitator classes in
Marlboro (for those interested, there is still time to
register). But I am going to attempt to dedicate some time
this summer to converting the JSW handouts in to a web page
with active hyperlinks. Am I a girl who knows how to have
fun in her spare time or what? If you want to advocate for
keeping it in the document handout form, by all means, drop
me a line.
I'm in the process of redesigning my website so that the
most often accessed content is easier to reach. In addition,
I'm in the process of adding more rich content, including a
bulletin board for career development related news,
happenings, and job postings. I've also made it easier than
ever to sign up to receive updates of my handouts by adding
a link to my mailing list on the home page. And soon I will
be rolling out a snazzy new HTML newsletter format. These
are all important first steps leading up to the creation of
a career development professionals peer support group, which
I've been promising my career development colleagues for
some time.
Please remind your colleagues that the Job Search Websites
handout is no longer distributed via the Detma email network
and that anyone wishing to receive this handout directly
should sign up for updates via the mailing list form on my
website.
And, as always, below are some career development related
